LA Pebbles on the Beach

Battle of the Bands Final

Held on 29th June at the Dolphin Public House, Littlehampton

2:30 - 6:00pm

The three bands that performed on the day were excellent, and I am glad I wasn't a judge, as picking a winner must have been a really hard decision. Very well done to all who performed, congratulations to the winners and commiserations to the losers.
Thanks must also go to those that organised on the event, and the masses of support that filled the pub, and to the management and staff of the Dolphin for allowing us to hold the event.

Atombuzz - The Winners

Band Members:
Ross - Bass
Ian - Vocals
Natt - Drums
Alex - Guitar

The sound of the band has progressed (regressed) from heavy metal to hardcore punk with heavy Motorhead style influences. Lyrically the band has always written about society and the things that anger them. At times the material has been viewed as comical but all the material has serious undertones despite interpretation.(taken from web site )
The band are always looking for opportunities to play live
They have been together for 15 years (well done) and are from the Littlehampton/Worthing area.
They play locally in Sussex and are prepared to travel and you can see them on 23rd August at Pebbles on the Beach

The Lost Boys
Band Members:
Steve Turner – vocals, drums and percussive devices
Michael Neale – guitar
Martin Banks – bass guitar, vocals
Formed in May 2007, “The Lost Boys” are a semi-professional band performing classic songs by artists ranging from Alice Cooper to Weezer, with a bit of Gershwin thrown in for good measure.
Though predominantly party songs including The Sweet’s “Ballroom Blitz”, Mud’s “Tiger Feet” and The Monkees “I’m A Believer” their set also has a fair dose of seriously good commercial rock with songs by The Kaiser Chiefs, U2 and Van Halen... (taken from website)

Band Members:
Daisy Howard - Vocals and Guitar
Rob Wiseman - Guitar
Luke (Dobby) Atkinson - Bass
Alex Clifton - Drums and Vocals

A young band who we hope to hear a lot more from. They raised the most money of any band on the day - which says a lot about what the audience thought of them.
Influences are Paramore, The Hives and Guns and Roses and they write their own music.
Formed on October last year and hailing from Rustington they are prepared to perform local gigs in schools and colleges.
This band may still be a couple of years from being old enough to buy alcohol, but are an example to other young bands that you can mix it with gigging bands on an equal basis.
Well done and make sure you enter next year.
